  Missouri and Taiwan sister-state relationship will celebrate its 30th – year anniversary this year. Director General Liu would like to host a dinner in Jefferson City in April to recognize this long-standing relationship.

  Welcome the 2009 Taiwan Goodwill Buyers’ Mission visit to Missouri
  The 2009 Agricultural Trade Goodwill Mission of Taiwan will depart for the US on Sept. 21 and come back in Taiwan on Oct. 4.  The delegation is scheduled to visit Missouri on Oct. 1 and 2.  Missouri’s Governor Nixon has been requested to witness the signing of the Joint Communique between Taiwan Feed Association, Vegetable Oil Association, US Soybean Association and Corn Growers Association on Oct. 2 in Jefferson City.  The delegation will visit Missouri-based Monsanto Company and soybean, corn farmers as well.
   
  Missouri Brewer Anheuser Busch Purchased by InBev
  Anheuser Busch of St. Louis , Missouri , the brewers of Bud Light and Budweiser beers have been purchased by InBev of Leuven, Belgium.  The Anheuser Busch – InBev merger will create a leader in world beer production and sales.  St. Louis will remain the North American Headquarters and the Global Office for its flagship Budweiser brand.  Anheuser Busch owns 50% of the Mexican brewer Modelo, which owns Corona Extra, the 5th largest worldwide brand, and 27% of Tsingtao Brewery in China .  The sale is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.  Anheuser Busch products are distributed in Taiwan by Nanlien International Corporation.

Tai Shin Foods U.S.A., whose origin is in Taiwan, has recently completed the construction of a pork processing plant in the State of Missouri and Grand Opening in June 6, 2008.
